Cookie Policy

Last updated: June 1, 2026

This policy explains how SEO Scout uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

Your choices

When you first visit SEO Scout, we ask for your consent before loading non-essential tracking. You can change your decision at any time using (also linked in the site footer).

What we use

Essential (always active)

Name / keyTypePurposeDuration
seoscout-cookie-consentLocal storageRemembers your cookie and analytics consent choiceUntil you clear site data or we update our consent version

This storage is strictly necessary to honour your privacy preferences under GDPR and does not require separate consent.

Analytics (optional — requires your consent)

ServiceCookies?PurposeProvider
Plausible AnalyticsNo cookiesAggregated pageview statistics (pages visited, referrer, device type). No cross-site tracking, no personal profiles.Plausible Insights OÜ — privacy policy

Plausible is only loaded if you click "Accept all" or enable Analytics in "Manage preferences." If you reject non-essential tracking, the Plausible script is never requested.

What we do not use

  • Advertising or retargeting cookies
  • Google Analytics (we do not install GA on seoscout.co)
  • Social media tracking pixels
  • Third-party cookies on our free browser tools (they run locally)

SEO Scout tools & your data

Our meta tag generator, schema builder, and other free tools process URLs and content entirely in your browser. That workflow does not set analytics cookies and does not send your inputs to our servers.

GDPR rights (EEA & UK visitors)

If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have the right to:

  • Withdraw consent for analytics at any time (via Cookie settings)
  • Access information about data we process — contact [email protected]
  • Request erasure of any personal data we hold about you
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

Withdrawing analytics consent stops new data collection immediately. Plausible does not identify individual visitors in reports we receive.

Browser controls

You can also block or delete cookies and site data through your browser settings. Blocking essential local storage may cause the consent banner to reappear on each visit.
